Godspeed You Black Emperor! Well I neglect tumblr but too my few followers here you go. Seeing Godspeed live was a significant moment in my life. The combination of the visuals and the music was overwhelming at times. That said the music separate and the visuals separate were both beautiful. Throughout the performance I found myself closing my eyes and drifting off into an uninterrupted stream of conciouness. For me the music reflected the ups and downs of life and the emotions that accompany you throughout your life. Throughout history music has brought people together but at music festivals that is rare. I feel like there is always one person that ruins it for us all because they have no respect for the people around them. I have experienced a handful of peaceful moments in my lifetime but never one with a crowd of strangers. I am extremely happy to have been present in that moment last night and at times l felt that it was appropriate to cry. I felt that Godspeed deserved my internal response as well as my external response to my emotions. The rest of the day I spent at Pitchfork was lots of fun, I got to see The Cults, Flying Lotus, and The Cloud Nothings. I am very thankful that I got to experience this.
